On March 12, our daughter-in-law, who had reached full-term in her pregnancy, began to experience labour pains. Our son put her in his car and drove as fast as he could to Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (HUKM). This was at at 5.30pm, and the roads were clogged.
Reaching HUKM in time seemed almost impossible. But then, a light bulb lit in my son's head. He called 999. Since he was uncertain of his whereabouts, having recently moved to KL, he was instructed to switch on his hazard lights.
Within a few minutes, he had two outriders escorting his car to HUKM.
Our eternal gratitude to the KL police force. Well done. We witnessed an act of police duty that will forever be etched in our memories.
Our first grandchild was born on March 13 at 1.33am. Welcome, Dhia Luna Latisya, to a new Malaysia.
