Kuala Lumpur, 29th December 2020 - Bukit Aman wants to boost recruitment of Orang Asli personnel in the police force, says CP Dato’ Ramli Haji Din.
The Bukit Aman Management Department Director said, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) currently boasts 1,006 Orang Asli personnel, of whom 11 are senior officers.
"At present, the highest-ranking officer among the Orang Asli is a Superintendent but in the past, there were those who ranked as high as Assistant Commissioner.
"A total of 76 Orang Asli trainees are undergoing training (at the Police Training Centre), which is expected to conclude by next May.
"We have always encouraged more participation among the Orang Asli as their contribution is invaluable," he said in an interview.
