[KERATAN AKHBAR PILIHAN] HARI POLIS KE-216: KUALA LUMPUR: KING AND QUEEN CREATE HISTORY AT POLICE DAY EVENT

Kuala Lumpur, 21st March 2023 - Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia (KDYMM) Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'Ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah and KDYMM Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Ibni Almarhum Al-Mutawakkil Allallah Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj made history by gracing the 216th Police Day celebrations at the Police Training Centre yesterday.

The presence of the royal couple marked the first royal attendance in the history of the ceremony.

The King and Queen were met on arrival at 9am by Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Inspector General of Police, IG Tan Sri Acryl Sani Hj. Abdullah Sani.

KDYMM Yang di-Pertuan Agong then inspected a guard-of-honour mounted by 102 members of the Federal Reserve Unit of the Royal Malaysian Police, led by commanding officer DSP Mohd Zulfadli Zulkifli.

Negaraku, the national anthem and Sang Saka Biru were then performed by the police band before the royal couple were accorded a royal salute accompanied by a fly-past of three helicopters cartying the Jalur Gemilang and the flag of Sang Saka Biru.

In addition, there was also a detachment of 543 officers and personnel from various police departments, including the Internal Security and Public Order Department, Management Department, Criminal Investigation Department and the Investigation and Traffic Enforcement Department.
