Kuala Lumpur, 10th November 2023 - More arrest may be made in connection with the case of the international syndicate that developed phishing templates to dupe victims in several countries.

Director of Commercial Crime Investigation Department, CP Dato' Sri Ramli Mohamed Yoosuf told the New StraitsTimes that his team was investigating how the syndicate operated for several years without detection.

This includes the possibility of the syndicate being protected.

We don't rule out the possibility of making more arrest during our investigation.

"We are looking into the matter but normally cyber offences require more onvestigation into the modus operand, which keeps changing with the latest technology."

Asked about the losses that were incurred after the usernames and passwords of 1,038 users, including civil servants,were compromised, Dato' Sri Ramli said police had yet to receive information on the matter.
