KERATAN AKHBAR PILIHAN: RM 17.9 MILION POWER THEFT FOILED

Kota Kinabalu, 1st March 2024 - The strong partnership between Sabah Electricity and the police has led to the arrest of 29 individuals involved in power theft, helping the utility company prevent losses amounting to RM 17.9 million.

Since 2021, they have carried out 101 operations targeting bitcoin mining activities and power theft across various industries, said Sabah Electricity Chief Executive Officer, Tuan Mohd Yaakob Jaafar.

“This success would not have been possible without the dedication and strong partnership between Sabah Electricity and the police,” he said during the handover ceremony of a Toyota four wheel drive vehicle to the Criminal Investigation Department ( D4 Unit) of the Sabah contingent police headquarters in Kepayan here.

Sabah Deputy Police Commissioner, DCP Datuk Shahurinain Jais, representing Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk jauteh Dikun, received the vehicle from Tuan Mohd Yaakob.
