KERATAN AKHBAR PILIHAN: SALUTE TO SHINING SPIRIT OF SERVICE

Johor Bahru, 5th July 2025 - Determination to join the force kept Corporal Zakheus Joanis going despite fading police recruit interviews three times in a row.

His unwavering perseverance to fulfil his dream and excel in his police duties culminated in a commendation for solving a major loan shark case.

He received his commendation letter from Police Chief of Johor, CP Datuk M. Kumar S. Muthuvelu at the state-level monthly police assembly at Johor police headquarters.
Now attached to the Criminal Investigation Department, Corporal Zakheus, 35, shared the story of his early struggle in becoming a police.

“I failed the speaking test every time, from explaining police rankings to presenting on current issues,” he added.

Undeterred, he honed his knowledge by studying current affairs and practised speaking skills while helping his family run a small food stall.
