MODERN POLICE STATIONS COMING

Kuala Lumpur -  Lodging a police report will be less tedious and time-consuming under a modern concept that is being introduced in two stations here. It will also enable officers to have more time to solve cases.

The facilities chosen to be "modern police stations" are in Brickfields and Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI). The pilot project to improve the force's service delivery will be launched by mid-May.

The "modern police stations", as described by Bukit Aman's Management Department director Comm Datuk Seri Zulkifli Abdullah, will be equipped with technology that helps speed up their tasks.

"We will put in place a simpler format for the public to use when filing a report.

"It is different from the template we have now, and will shorten the time spent lodging a report at the police station," he said.

He explained that to lodge a report currently, the officer would need to manually record a person's details while at a modern police station, the person's details would be automatically filled through their MyKad as the system would be linked to the National Registration Department.
