FOREIGN GENG MEMBERS SHOT DEAD

Two members of a foreign armed robbery gang, which has been terrorising Miri for the past two years, were shot dead in a raid when they tried to attack the police.

The two, in their 30s, and their gang are believed to be behind at least 16 robberies and had been wanted by police since last year.

Police are hunting for the others linked to the duo.

Sarawak CID chief SAC Datuk Dev Kumar said the gang had been robbing and terrorising the people living along the LuakBakam area near Miri city.

The suspects were shot dead when they attempted to attack the police who ambushed an abandoned house used by the duo at about lam yesterday, he told a press conference.
