Johor Bahru, 17th July 2023 – Some 450 police personnel took part in a “gotong-royong” at the police headquarters in Johor Bahru in an effort to spruce up the area.

Johor's Deputy Police Chief, DCP M. Kumar S. Muthuvelu, police personnel raked leaves and used water hoses to clear clogged drains.

Kumar said that he had also instructed all 10 department heads to ‘adopt’ a particular location and not only take care of it, but use their creativity to beautify the area.
He added that they were free to come up with themes for their respective areas.
“Each department will be given an area the size of half a football field to be turned into a small park or green corner.
“This will give them a chance to relax in these places after a long day of fighting crime,” he said after launching the “gotong-royong”.
