Kuala Lumpur, 14th January 2026 - Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department will adopt a zero-tolerance approach towards abuse of power, corruption and misconduct, says CP Dato' Sri Muhammed Hasbullah Ali.
The newly appointed director said the approach will be adopted while continuing to uphold firm but humane law enforcement.
"Enforcement officers must respect the public and not instil fear, stressing that integrity and professionalism were non-negotiable in maintaining public trust," he said during an address to the department's top leadership recently.
Dato' Sri Muhammed Hasbullah said traffic enforcement should not rely solely on punitive measures but must be complemented by preventive efforts through education, advocacy and road safety awareness.
"Preventive enforcement should be carried out in tandem with investigations and enforcement operations to achieve sustainable improvements in road safety.
